Air Force opens spring golf season at Loyola Intercollegiate in Arizona

Junior Eli Huntington led the Air Force golf team during the first round of the Loyola Intercollegiate, which began Sunday, February 15, at Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear, Arizona. This tournament marks the start of the spring season for Air Force.

Huntington recorded an even-par 72 with three birdies. Senior Brooks Morrell followed with a score of 74 (+2), also making three birdies. Freshman Ben Zeiler and senior Eric Liveringhouse each finished with a score of 76, while junior Carson Baker shot a 77. Senior Ted Davenport competed as an individual and matched the 76 posted by Zeiler and Liveringhouse.

Loyola Maryland and Richmond are currently tied for first place with team scores of 280 (-8). South Dakota and Denver share third place at 281 (-7). The Air Force team is tied for seventeenth alongside Bucknell after posting a combined score of 298 (+10).

The second round of play will begin Monday morning at 7:45 am Mountain Time.

In addition to the Loyola Intercollegiate, four Falcons golfers—junior Grant Samuelson, sophomore Jackson Scaletta, and freshmen Aaron Baker and Lincoln Blake—will compete as individuals in The Prestige Tournament from February 16 to February 18 at Terra Lago Golf Club in Indio, California.
