Air Force Academy freshman winger Oliver Genest has been named the Atlantic Hockey America Rookie of the Week after his performance against Mercyhurst on February 13-14 at Cadet Ice Arena.
Genest scored his first collegiate goal in the second period of the opening game, tying the score at 1-1. He then added two more goals later in that same period, recording a hat trick. This was the first hat trick by an Air Force player since Austin Schwartz achieved one against Robert Morris on February 21, 2025. Over the two-game series, Genest finished with a +2 rating and took six shots on goal.
“This weekly award is the first of Genest’s collegiate career. It is the 10th weekly award earned by Air Force this season and the second rookie of the week honor,” according to a statement from Air Force.
The Falcons currently hold a record of 15-12-3 overall and 11-9-2 in Atlantic Hockey America play. The team will host Army for a two-game league series at Cadet Ice Arena on February 20 and 21.
