Air Force men’s water polo falls to Concordia at Titan Invitational

Air Force men’s water polo lost 15-14 to Concordia (Irvine) during the second day of the Cal State Fullerton Titan Invitational, held at the Fullerton Aquatics Center in Fullerton, California.

The match remained close throughout, with neither team leading by more than one goal until the fourth quarter. Air Force briefly took a 10-9 lead after Tom Leggett scored with just over two minutes left in the third quarter. However, Concordia responded by outscoring Air Force 6-4 for the remainder of the game.

Concordia established a two-goal advantage with less than two minutes remaining. Gavin Honken narrowed the deficit to one goal for Air Force at the 1:25 mark, but despite several late opportunities, the Falcons were unable to tie the game.

Tom Leggett and Jack Richards each contributed seven points for Air Force. Richards scored five goals while Leggett had four. Owen Imasaki added four points with a goal and three assists. Jackson Carter and Dante Nochetti also contributed two points each.

Goalkeeper Luca Smith recorded 10 saves and one steal during the match.

Air Force will return to competition on Thursday, September 18, at Navy.
