Air Force men’s water polo ends season after loss to San Jose State

Seventh-seeded Air Force men’s water polo was defeated by second-seeded and ninth-ranked San Jose State, 14-10, in the opening game of the 2025 West Coast Conference tournament at the Cadet Natatorium. Juniors Tom Leggett and Jack Richards led Air Force with four goals each.

San Jose State established an early lead, finishing the first quarter ahead 4-1 and extending their advantage to 9-4 by halftime. Although Air Force outscored San Jose State 6-5 in the second half and narrowed the gap to two goals at 11-9 during the fourth quarter, San Jose State closed out the match with a 4-1 run.

Senior Luca Smith recorded 11 saves as goalkeeper for Air Force. Brady Kopperud and Jonah Vander Veen contributed two assists each.

Air Force concludes its season with a 17-15 overall record, marking its fourth winning season in five years.
