Air Force Academy’s men’s tennis team is set to participate in the 2025 Mountain West Tennis Fall Qualifier, scheduled for October 3-6 at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The event serves as a qualifying tournament for the 2025 ITA Conference Masters Championships, which will take place from November 6-9 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, California. Winners of both singles and doubles brackets at the qualifier will secure spots in the upcoming ITA Conference Masters Championships.
Competition at the qualifier follows a single-elimination format for both singles and doubles draws. The doubles bracket features 16 teams, while singles includes 32 players. There is also a consolation round that includes a quarterfinal shootout.
Representing Air Force in both singles and doubles are Alec Fritzinger, Caden Lee, Tyler Leaird, and Matthew Staton.
On Friday, October 3, Fritzinger and Staton will face B. Patoux and D. Janokoski from Grand Canyon University (GCU) in their opening doubles match. Leaird and Lee are matched against J. Prachar and T. Waddock of New Mexico (UNM), who are seeded second.
In singles play starting at 10:30 am PT on Friday, Caden Lee is set to compete against top-seeded Illia Snitari from UNLV. Tyler Leaird faces fourth seed Tristan Berard of GCU; Matthew Staton takes on sixth seed Avery Tallakson from Boise State University (BSU); and Alec Fritzinger meets Carson Baker of BSU.
