Air Force men’s tennis lost 4-0 to Nebraska on Sunday at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln. The Falcons’ record now stands at 1-2, while Nebraska improved to 6-0.

In doubles play, Air Force secured a win at No. 1 as Jack Brown and Tyler Leaird defeated Nikolay Sysoev and Matt Shearer with a score of 6-2. However, Nebraska clinched the doubles point by winning matches at No. 2 and No. 3 positions.

Nebraska went on to sweep singles competition, recording victories at No. 2, No. 4, and No. 5 singles spots.

Head coach Evan Urbina commented on the team’s performance: “This road trip has been a good learning experience for our team,” Urbina said. “I was pleased Jack and Ty got the W in doubles, a great result from putting in hard work together. AJ brought the energy all weekend, and Jack continues to hit big shots as he stays undefeated in singles. We are back to work improving on the practice court this week! Go Falcons!”

Air Force is scheduled to play next on February 12 against Stetson.

Singles results included Leo Linquet defeating Phillip Deaton (6-2, 6-1), Jeri Lassila defeating Alec Fritzinger (6-2, 6-2), and Niels van der Sijs defeating Langdon Tingleaf (6-2, 6-3). Other matches were unfinished when play concluded.

Doubles results saw Henry Lamchimmiah/Leo Linquet beat AJ Moore/Langdon Tingleaf (6-4) and Colson Wells/Jeri Lassila defeat Phillip Deaton/Alec Fritzinger (6-2).
