Air Force men’s swimming and diving tops Denver and Wyoming but falls to LSU

The Air Force men’s swimming and diving team secured dual meet victories over Denver and Wyoming on Saturday at the Cadet Natatorium, while falling to No. 14 LSU.

Senior Bridon Rosales led the Falcons in the 100 breaststroke, finishing first with a time of 54.52 seconds. Teammates Tanner Wilson and Mack Nuval placed fourth and fifth in the same event.

Team captain James Winterfield took second place in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:52.16, followed by Camden Swigart in third at 1:53.37. Winterfield also earned another silver finish in the 200 backstroke, clocking in at 51.11 seconds.

The relay team of Winterfield, Rosales, Wilson, and Keoni Li finished third in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:20.08.

Freshman Jordan Falls represented Air Force with a fourth-place finish in the 50 freestyle (20.63). Joe Christ took fourth place in the 200 freestyle (1:42.22), while Danny Detjen finished fifth in the 200 butterfly (1:55.07).

In diving events, Brady Nichol scored 288.80 for fourth place on the one-meter springboard; Lucas Gerten followed closely behind for fifth place (281.15) and later achieved Air Force’s highest platform score of the day with a fourth-place finish (272.20).

Air Force will next compete at home against Grand Canyon on Friday, October 31.
