Air Force men’s swim team concludes regular season at Denver First Chance Invite

Air Force Academy’s men’s swimming team ended its regular season at the Denver First Chance Invite on Saturday morning at El Pomar Natatorium. The event marked the final meet before the start of championship competitions.

The Falcons secured three top finishes during the meet. Senior Louie Body won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:47.40, while teammate Garrett Kennedy finished third in the same event at 1:48.66.

In the 200-yard breaststroke, Anthony Sebastian took first place, finishing in 2:00.38. He was joined by Brandon Cho (2:01.10), Matthew Doty (2:02.37), and Bridon Rosales (2:02.58) among the top finishers.

Tyler Surratt led in distance events, winning the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:33.11. Tucker Rice placed second at 4:35.51, and Ralph Fiscus came in fourth at 4:40.94.

For the 100-yard freestyle, Jordan Falls earned silver with a time of 44.97 seconds, followed by Joe Christ (45.06) and James Winterfield (45.22) who placed third and fourth respectively.

Winterfield also finished second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 47.47 seconds, while Danny Detjen took third at 48.95 seconds.

In the 200-yard individual medley, Jonas Dark was second with a time of 1:51.33 and Evan Witte placed fourth at 1:52.61.

The Air Force men’s swimming team will next compete at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championship in Pharr, Texas from February 25 to February 28.
