Air Force men’s swim and dive set to compete against Colorado School of Mines

Air Force men’s swimming and diving will compete against the Colorado School of Mines in a dual meet scheduled for Saturday, January 10, in Golden, Colorado. The event will start with the diving portion at 8 a.m. Mountain Time, followed by racing events beginning at 10:30 a.m. Mountain Time.

The meet will be available for viewing via live stream on the RMAC Network, and live results can be tracked through SwimCloud.

The event schedule includes multiple races such as the 400 Medley Relay, 1000 Free, 200 Free, 50 Free, 400 IM, and several others with breaks between some events.

Several Air Force athletes currently hold top times in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). Senior Louie Body is ranked fifth in the conference for the 200 backstroke. Freshman Brandon Cho holds second place in the 200 breaststroke and tenth in both the 400 IM and MPSF standings. Junior Joe Christ is placed within the top five for several freestyle distances.

Other notable performances include freshman Jonas Dark’s top ten times in both the 200 fly and 200 IM, while senior Danny Detjen has an eighth-place ranking in the 200 fly. Freshman Matthew Doty is third in MPSF for the 400 IM and holds other strong placements. In diving events, Lucas Gerten leads MPSF on platform and ranks second on both one-meter and three-meter boards.

The team recently participated in the CSCAA College National Open Water Championship held December 13 in Sarasota, Florida. Tucker Rice finished highest among Falcon competitors with a time of 58:31.9 to secure 50th place.

After competing against Colorado School of Mines, Air Force will travel west to face Seattle University on Friday, January 16 at 5 p.m. Mountain Time.
