Air Force men’s swimming and diving team finished fifth at the SMU Invitational, which took place at the Robson & Lindley Aquatic Center in Dallas, Texas. The team scored 366.5 points during the event.
James Winterfield secured a sixth-place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:45.35. Camden Swigart also competed in the same event, finishing 11th with a time of 1:46.04.
In the 200 backstroke, Louie Body placed tenth with a time of 1:45.05. Teammates Garrett Kennedy and Dylan Ferguson followed in 12th and 13th places, clocking times of 1:46.21 and 1:47.67 respectively.
For the mile freestyle event, Tucker Rice recorded a time of 15:36.22 to finish in 14th place, while Tyler Surratt was close behind in 15th place with a time of 15:36.89.
Senior Danny Detjen finished the 200 butterfly in 14th place with a time of 1:48.15, and Evan Witte came in at 16th with a time of 1:52.67.
Joe Christ was Air Force’s top finisher in the 100 freestyle, placing 15th with a time of 44.09 seconds. Jordan Falls followed closely in 17th place at 44.20 seconds.
The Air Force men’s swim and dive team is scheduled to compete next on December 13 at the CSCAA Open Water National Championships in Sarasota, Florida.
