The Air Force men’s gymnastics team, currently ranked 13th nationally, will compete in a triangular meet this Saturday, February 7, in Norman, Oklahoma. The event will feature second-ranked Oklahoma and third-ranked Ohio State as opponents.
The meet is scheduled to take place at McCasland Field House on the University of Oklahoma campus. It will begin at 6:00 pm Central Time and be broadcast live on ESPN+, with commentary provided by Chad McKee and Genki Suzuki. Fans can also follow live scoring through Vertius, and admission to the event is free.
Oklahoma enters the competition undefeated and holds an average team score of 321.933, placing them second in the NCAA rankings. The Sooners lead the nation on both pommel horse and high bar events. Nathan Roman from Oklahoma has achieved the top individual average on parallel bars with a score of 14.175.
Ohio State is ranked third nationally with an average score of 315.217. The Buckeyes are supported by David Ramirez, who holds the number two ranking in the all-around category. The team also maintains top-three national standings on vault and high bar events.
Air Force has competed once so far this season, finishing with a score of 302.100 at the Rocky Mountain Open in mid-January. This result places them at number 13 nationally and number 12 in the CGA Power Rankings.
There are several connections between Air Force and Oklahoma for this meet. Palmer Wright from Air Force is originally from Edmond, near Norman, while assistant coaches Mike Reid and Sergey Resnick both previously competed for Oklahoma as collegiate gymnasts.
Looking ahead, Air Force will travel to Fort Worth, Texas next Friday, February 13, to participate in the annual All-Academy Championships at the Fort Worth Convention Center against Navy and Army West Point.
