Air Force men’s basketball will start its 2025-26 season on the road against Belmont University on Monday, November 3. The game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT at the Curb Event Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Falcons are coming off a challenging 2024-25 season, finishing with a record of 4-28 overall and 1-19 in the Mountain West Conference, placing them eleventh. Belmont finished their previous season at 22-11 overall and seventh in the Missouri Valley Conference with a 13-7 record.
Joe Scott returns as Air Force’s head coach for his tenth season overall and sixth since rejoining the program. He holds a school record of 94-169 and an overall career coaching record of 278-346 across twenty-two seasons. Casey Alexander leads Belmont as head coach for his seventh season, with a school record of 140-54 and a career mark of 277-174.
Both teams look to improve following losses in their most recent games; Air Force lost to UNLV while Belmont fell to Drake.
Air Force trails Belmont in their all-time series, with one win and two losses. Their last meeting took place on November 15, 2025, when Belmont won decisively at USAFA. The Falcons’ only victory over Belmont occurred during their first matchup on December 11, 2002.
This marks Air Force’s return to Tennessee for the first time since November 30, 2003, when they also played at Belmont.
Head coach Joe Scott enters year six of his second stint leading Air Force. The team brings back eight players from last year’s roster and adds nine freshmen for this campaign. Collectively, current roster members have played in a total of 132 college games and made 48 starts entering this season.
Air Force has an all-time record of 32 wins and 37 losses in season-opening games as it begins its seventieth basketball season.
A notable development from last season includes former player Ethan Taylor being selected ninth overall in the NBA G-League Draft by the Greensboro Swarm before being traded to the Santa Cruz Warriors, affiliate of the Golden State Warriors.
Following their opener against Belmont, Air Force will host Austin Peay on Saturday, November 8 at Clune Arena with tipoff set for 2 p.m. MT.
