Senior Texas Tanner and junior Liliane Aittama led the Air Force Falcons at the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships in Reno, Nevada, on February 28, 2026. Tanner secured his second conference title in as many days by winning the men’s shot put with a throw of 19.18 meters. This marks his first championship in this event and makes him the second Falcon in four years to win the indoor shot put title.
Tanner was among four men from Air Force to reach the podium on Saturday. Jettason Rose finished as runner-up in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.83 seconds. Jayden Nats earned third place in the 3000-meter run with a time adjusted for altitude to 7:49.68, moving up to No. 2 on Air Force’s all-time list for that event. Tanner Woodring tied for third in the pole vault with a personal best clearance of 5.26 meters, continuing a streak of top-three finishes for Air Force in this event over the past two decades.
Other notable performances included Asher Jenkins finishing fourth in the 200 meters with a career-best time of 21.01 seconds, placing him fifth on Air Force’s all-time list. Trevin Jordan achieved eighth place in shot put with a personal record of 16.33 meters, reaching No. 21 on the program’s all-time standings.
In distance events, Dominykas Remeikis (4:08.53), Ben Scheller (4:08.93), and Patrick Allen (4:09.41) placed fifth through seventh respectively in the mile final, while Jonah Hochstetler took fourth in the 800-meter run (1:53.97). Saketh Rudraraju finished sixth in the 3000-meter run and set an Air Force sophomore class record after his altitude-adjusted time was recorded at 7:55.12.
The men’s team also saw their relay squad—Zachary DeWalt, Jordan Elie-Stuart, Ryan Hajek, and Zachary King—finish fifth in the 4×400-meter relay with one of the fastest times ever for Air Force at this meet.
On the women’s side, Liliane Aittama broke her own school record again during her runner-up finish in the women’s 800-meter run, clocking an altitude-adjusted time of 2:05.40 after running a raw time of 2:05.97.
Aittama was joined on the podium by fellow junior Cam Bodine who finished third (2:07.30) and improved her own No.3 mark at Air Force to an altitude-adjusted time of 2:06.72; Rachel Fereday finished sixth (2:11.10), giving Air Force three runners among the top six finishers.
Additional highlights included Anna Harden placing sixth in the mile and lowering her own No.3 all-time mark to an altitude-adjusted time of 4:45.81; India Jones finished seventh overall but posted an altitude-adjusted mark good enough for fifth-best ever at Air Force (9:22.94) during her race against a field dominated by UNM athletes.
Elsewhere at Reno-Sparks Convention Center, Scarlet Fetterolf moved up to No.11 on Air Force’s women’s list for adjusted times in the women’s 3000-meter run while Junior Allen debuted at No .24 on men’s list after adjustment; Mackenzie Fah improved to No .14 all-time among women shot putters at Air Force.
The women’s relay team—Eleanor Borchard , Allison Fernstrom , Ella Pears , Sarah Reynolds —combined for one of program history’s fastest times (3 :45 .80 ) .
At meet conclusion , Falcon men placed fourth overall with total score of 83 .50 points ; women scored 47 points , matching their best-ever indoor finish from previous seasons .
Top athletes from both teams will now prepare for NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships scheduled March 13-14 in Fayetteville , Arkansas . The official list of qualifiers is expected next week .
