Air Force will host UNLV in a men’s basketball game on Saturday, February 21 at 1 p.m. Mountain Time at Clune Arena, located at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. The event will feature a Gregg Popovich bobblehead giveaway while supplies last.

Clune Arena has completed renovations to its accessibility features. “All three sets of stairs and west ADA ramp into Clune Arena are now fully operational. We appreciate the patience of our fans and look forward to welcoming them back to our athletics events with this completed project,” according to the announcement.

Fans who do not have Department of Defense identification cards and are over 18 years old must obtain a visitor’s pass for base access.

The game will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network with Josh Howe providing play-by-play commentary and Geoff Bennett as analyst. A radio stream will be available on AM 740 KVOR with Jim Arthur calling the game, and live statistics can be followed through Statbroadcast.

Air Force enters the matchup with a record of 3-23 overall and 0-15 in Mountain West Conference play, currently on a 19-game losing streak. Their most recent game was a loss to New Mexico, 98-61. UNLV holds a record of 13-13 overall and is 8-7 in conference games, coming off a loss against Colorado State by a score of 91-86.

Jon Jordan serves as interim head coach for Air Force in his first season at the helm, while Josh Pastner leads UNLV in his first year with the program but brings experience from previous coaching positions.

In their all-time series, Air Force trails UNLV with an overall record of 16 wins to UNLV’s 51. The teams last met on January 3, when UNLV won 67-39 in Las Vegas.

This season, freshmen have contributed significantly for Air Force, accounting for more than half of the team’s scoring both overall and within conference games. Freshman Lucas Hobin set an Air Force freshman record by making his 58th three-pointer during a game at Fresno State. Caleb Walker achieved national recognition by making sixteen consecutive baskets across three games, marking one of the longest such streaks this season.

After facing UNLV, Air Force will host San Jose State on Tuesday, February 24 at Clune Arena with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m., which will also be streamed via the Mountain West Network.
