The Air Force golf team is set to begin its spring season at the Loyola Intercollegiate, taking place from February 15 to 17 at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona. The tournament will feature 19 teams and 20 individual competitors. Participating schools include host Loyola Maryland, Air Force, Bucknell, Denver, Holy Cross, Idaho, Marshall, Missouri State, North Carolina State, Northern Colorado, Omaha, Penn, Richmond, Seton Hall, SIU-Edwardsville, South Dakota, South Dakota State, UT Martin and Utah Valley.

Air Force’s lineup for the event consists of Eli Huntington (No. 1), Brooks Morrell (No. 2), Eric Liveringhouse (No. 3), Carson Baker (No. 4), Ben Zeiler (No. 5) and Ted Davenport competing as an individual.

Golfers will play 18 holes each day with a shotgun start scheduled for 7:45 am Mountain Time on the par-72 course measuring 7,013 yards. Each team will field five golfers daily with the top four scores contributing to the team total.

Four Falcons—Grant Samuelson (junior), Jackson Scaletta (sophomore), Aaron Baker and Lincoln Blake (freshmen)—will also compete individually at The Prestige Tournament in Indio, California from February 16 to 18.

Air Force did not participate in last year’s Loyola Intercollegiate but recorded a strong finish in the spring of 2024 at Palm Valley Golf Club. That year’s squad posted a season-best final round score of 283 and a three-round total of 861—the program’s best since the 2017-18 season and tied for the thirteenth-best since joining a conference in 1999. Then-freshman Eli Huntington led Air Force with a career-best round of 68 (-4) and finished twentieth overall with a total score of -4 over three rounds.

Looking back at the fall season leading into this spring opener: Four Falcons—Carson Baker (junior), Eli Huntington (junior), Eric Liveringhouse (senior) and Brooks Morrell (senior)—played all fifteen team rounds. Carson Baker leads with an average score of 75.53 per round; Huntington follows at 76.13; Liveringhouse averages 76.40; Morrell sits just behind at 76.44. Freshman Ben Zeiler posted Air Force’s lowest individual round in the fall—a score of 68 during the Gene Miranda Invitational—while Liveringhouse shot a team-best round of 69 during that same event.

In their most recent outing at the Pearl at Kalauoa Invitational held November in O’ahu, senior Ted Davenport led Air Force with a two-day total of +7 over three rounds.

Next on their schedule after Arizona is participation in the Bandon Dunes Collegiate from March 8 to March 10 in Bandon, Oregon.
