The Air Force golf team is set to begin its 2025-26 season at the fourth annual Folds of Honor Collegiate, which will take place from September 8 to 10 at the American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Michigan. The event is co-hosted by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), Florida State University, and Michigan State University.
The tournament format includes 18 holes played each day on a par 72, 7,128-yard course. All three rounds will be broadcast live on Golf Channel with coverage scheduled for Monday and Tuesday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and again from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm Eastern Time. Wednesday’s coverage will run from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and resume from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Air Force joins a field of fifteen men’s teams including Alabama—the defending champions—Army, Baylor, Cal, Cincinnati, Florida A&M, No. 9 Florida State, Grand Valley State, Kansas, Michigan State, Missouri, Navy, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
Representing Air Force this week are Brooks Morrell (1), Ted Davenport (2), Eric Liveringhouse (3), Carson Baker (4), and Eli Huntington (5).
The Folds of Honor Collegiate is held at the Jack Nicklaus-designed American Dunes Golf Club. This year’s tournament features both men’s and women’s teams from across college golf—including service academies as well as Division II and HBCU programs.
Folds of Honor is a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to spouses and children of U.S. military service members and first responders who have fallen or been disabled while serving. Since its founding in 2007 by Lt Col Dan Rooney—a PGA Professional and former F-16 fighter pilot—the group has awarded over 52,000 scholarships totaling about $244 million nationwide.
American Dunes was created after the closure of Grand Haven Golf Club in 2018 when Jack Nicklaus donated his design fee for the new project. Eighteen individuals sponsored one hole each alongside five private investors who helped preserve what became known as the birthplace of Folds of Honor.
Last season at this event saw Eli Huntington lead Air Force with a total score of 228 over three rounds; Cameron Kahle followed with a score of 231. Alabama won last year’s tournament with an overall score of 840. Air Force finished fifteenth out of fifteen teams.
In previous years at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, Air Force has twice finished as the top service academy participant—in both the inaugural event in 2022 and again in 2023.
This season’s roster returns four golfers who competed in last year’s Mountain West Championships. Junior Eli Huntington led with a season stroke average of just over seventy-four across ten rounds at par or better. Senior captain Brooks Morrell had seven rounds at or under par out of twenty-two played last season; seniors Ted Davenport, Alvaro Fonseca and Eric Liveringhouse also return.
Looking ahead on their schedule, Air Force will host the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational September 20-22 at Eisenhower Course on their home campus—a two-part event featuring both team competition on one course and individual play on another.
