Air Force Women’s Basketball lost to San Diego State 62-51 on Wednesday at Viejas Arena in San Diego. Senior Milahnie Perry led the Falcons with 18 points, shooting 8-for-16 from the field. Junior Jordyn Devaughn added 10 points, while freshman Bhret Clay scored nine points and collected a career-high seven rebounds. Senior Emily Adams contributed eight points and recorded a game-high three steals.

The first quarter was closely contested, with Air Force trailing by three at its end. Perry scored her first basket just before the buzzer after contesting near the paint against San Diego State’s Nala Williams. In the second quarter, San Diego State went on a 9-0 run to extend their lead to 12 points. Air Force managed to reduce the deficit to four late in the half, but a last-minute basket by Aztec Nat Martinez left them behind 28-22 at halftime.

San Diego State began the third quarter with another strong run, again pushing their advantage to 12 points. The Falcons responded by cutting into that lead but struggled offensively in the latter part of the quarter and entered the fourth down by 17 after being outscored 12-2 over five minutes.

In the final quarter, Air Force improved its scoring efficiency and outscored San Diego State 19-13, including a late 10-3 run over three minutes led by Bhret Clay. However, there was not enough time left for a comeback.

Statistically, Air Force led in free throw percentage (.727) and steals (12), matching San Diego State in both points off turnovers (13) and second-chance points (four).

Air Force now holds a record of 7-6 overall and is set to host UNLV at Clune Arena on Saturday, January 3 at 1 p.m. MT.
