Air Force Falcons women’s soccer loses close match to Boise State

Falcons women’s soccer team was defeated 2-1 by Boise State in a conference match at Cadet Soccer Stadium on Sunday. Zahra Friess scored Air Force’s only goal, marking her second career goal, after intercepting a breakaway from midfield late in the game. The Falcons made five shots on target during the match, with goalkeeper Trishelle Lopez recording five saves.

Boise State took an early lead, scoring their first goal in the 32nd minute and adding another ten minutes later through Sophie Schmautz. Despite reducing the deficit to one goal in the 82nd minute, Air Force could not equalize before the end of play.

The team will next travel to Wyoming for another Mountain West matchup scheduled for Thursday, October 9 at 3 p.m. MT.
