The Air Force Falcons women’s soccer team will host the Nevada Wolf Pack on Sunday, October 19 at 1 p.m. MT for their annual Cancer Awareness match at the U.S. Air Force Academy. A pregame ceremony will honor player Addie Doyle.
Due to a government shutdown, there will be no live stream of the game, but fans can follow live statistics through StatBroadcast.
Entry procedures at the Air Force Academy require all visitors without a Department of Defense ID card to obtain a visitor pass. This year, passes are being issued monthly rather than per event, allowing ticket holders to complete one form for access to all events within that month.
The Falcons have played Nevada 12 times since their first meeting in 2012 and currently have an overall record of five wins, six losses, and one draw against them. Their most recent victory over Nevada was a 1-0 shutout in 2024.
In their last outing, Air Force secured a 3-1 win against UNLV. The team scored three goals from Addie Doyle, Peyton Ferrell, and Annika Jost. “With her first goal of the season, Doyle broke the scoreless tie in the 15th minute after Heap slipped her the ball from the left side of the box, allowing Doyle to slot it around the Rebels’ keeper.” Assists were recorded by AJ Heap and Maddy Walsh while goalkeeper Trishelle Lopez made four saves.
This season, Air Force is averaging 1.43 goals per game with nine different players scoring at least once. Annika Jost leads with five goals and two assists for twelve points. Chase Borntreger has two goals and three assists while Kendall Rippley has three goals and one assist.
On defense, Jordan Dillingham leads with over 1,100 minutes played and scored her first career goal this year. Team captain Samantha Sharp along with Raine Komata and Ava Carpentier have contributed significantly in midfield roles.
Freshmen forwards AJ Heap and Zahra Friess have both scored their first collegiate goals this season; Heap has started eleven matches while Friess logged her first start against Northern Colorado.
Goalkeeper Trishelle Lopez has started twelve games this season with fifty saves and two shutouts so far. She was recognized as Mountain West Freshman of the Week following performances including a shutout win at Wyoming.
Air Force currently ranks third in the Mountain West Conference standings behind Boise State and New Mexico. Their total goals rank fourth in conference play; goalkeeper statistics place them fifth overall in saves.
Nevada enters Sunday’s match with an overall record of two wins, ten losses, and two draws after losing recently to Colorado College. Naima Castro leads Nevada’s offense with four goals while goalkeeper Mia Collins has managed eighty-one saves across fourteen games this season.
