The Air Force Falcons baseball team will travel to Reno for a three-game Mountain West Conference series against the Nevada Wolf Pack from March 20 to March 22 at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park. Both teams enter the matchup with undefeated conference records, each having completed sweeps in their opening league series.
This series is significant as it features two teams off to strong starts in conference play, with both looking to build momentum early in the season. The games are scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. Pacific Time, Saturday at 2 p.m., and Sunday at noon, with live coverage available on the Mountain West Network and StatBroadcast.
The Falcons (6-11 overall, 3-0 MW) will field a lineup led by sophomore outfielder Kayden Bradshaw, who holds a .407 batting average and recently hit for the cycle against UNLV. Senior shortstop Ben Niednagel has also been recognized nationally, earning a spot on the Brooks Wallace Award Watchlist for his performance both offensively and defensively. On the mound, right-handed pitcher Gaines Estridge leads all Mountain West pitchers in innings pitched (28.2), while freshman Josh Holst holds the lowest earned run average among Falcon starters at 5.40.
Nevada (12-6 overall, 3-0 MW), last year’s regular-season conference champion, comes into the series after a decisive win over Fresno Pacific and a sweep of Fresno State. The Wolf Pack offense is paced by Jacob Doyle with a .717 slugging percentage and 20 runs batted in this season.
Historically, Nevada leads the all-time series between these programs with a record of 32 wins to Air Force’s 26 since their first meeting in 2013. Last year, Nevada won two out of three games when they hosted Air Force at Erdle Field.
Looking ahead, both teams aim to continue their strong starts within conference play as they vie for position early in the Mountain West standings.
