Air Force will travel to Albuquerque to face New Mexico on Tuesday, February 17 at The Pit. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Mountain Time and will be broadcast on Altitude and the Mountain West Network. Fans can also listen on AM 740 KVOR or the Varsity App, with Jim Arthur providing play-by-play commentary. Live statistics will be available through Statbroadcast.

The Falcons enter the matchup with a record of 3-22 overall and 0-14 in Mountain West play, currently on an 18-game losing streak. Their most recent game was a 93-63 loss at Fresno State. New Mexico holds a record of 19-6 overall and 10-4 in conference games, coming off a win against Grand Canyon.

Jon Jordan is serving as Air Force’s interim head coach in his first season in that role and ninth overall with the program. Eric Olen leads New Mexico in his first season as head coach but has accumulated a career record of 259-125 over thirteen seasons.

The series between these teams dates back to December 7, 1957, when Air Force won their first meeting. However, New Mexico currently leads the all-time series, 70-27, including a four-game winning streak. In their last encounter on January 10, New Mexico defeated Air Force 91-49 at USAFA.

This season, freshmen have contributed significantly for Air Force, accounting for more than half of the team’s scoring both overall and in conference games. Over the past three games, Air Force has assisted on three-fourths of its field goals. The team’s roster entered this season with less experience compared to New Mexico; Air Force players had played a combined total of just over one hundred games before this year began.

Freshman Lucas Hobin recently set an Air Force freshman record by making his fifty-eighth three-pointer during the game at Fresno State. Caleb Walker made sixteen consecutive baskets across three games earlier this season, which ranks as the fourth-longest streak nationally.

Among freshmen at Air Force during the Mountain West era, forward Lucas Hobin (11.9 points per game) and guard Kam Sanders (11.6 points per game) are now ranked first and second in scoring average.

Following Tuesday’s contest against New Mexico, Air Force will return home to host UNLV on Saturday, February 21 at 1 p.m., with streaming available via the Mountain West Network.
