Air Force’s diving team will travel to West Point, New York, to compete against the Army Black Knights at Crandall Pool from November 8 to November 9. The competition begins Friday evening with women’s 1-meter and men’s 3-meter events, followed by Saturday afternoon’s women’s 3-meter and men’s 1-meter contests.
Several Air Force divers enter the meet ranked highly in their respective conferences. On the women’s side, sophomore Kacey Hu holds third place in the Mountain West for her 1-meter performance and fourth on platform. Chloe Perkins, also a sophomore, ranks fourth on both the 1- and 3-meter boards and leads the conference on platform. Freshman Lulu Semakula is seventh in the conference for the women’s 1-meter event.
For the men, freshman Lucas Gerten sits atop all three MPSF diving categories: he leads on both springboards and platform. Vann Hotchkiss is ranked fourth in MPSF for men’s 1-meter and second on platform. Junior Korbin Moyer holds fourth place on platform, while sophomore Brady Nichol is second on the men’s 1-meter board.
In their last outing, Air Force’s women divers contributed to a win over Grand Canyon University with a score of 224-147 at Cadet Natatorium. Kacey Hu set a new program record with a score of 282.80 on the women’s 1-meter springboard for first place. Chloe Perkins secured first place on platform with a score of 232.90.
On the men’s side, Air Force achieved a victory over Grand Canyon University with a score of 208-155. Lucas Gerten broke an Academy record in his first-place finish in the men’s 1-meter event with a score of 360.30.
The two-day matchup at Army provides another opportunity for these athletes to compete against strong opposition as they continue their season.
