Air Force diving completed its participation at the NCAA Zones on March 11 at Wall Aquatic Center in Flagstaff, Arizona. Freshman Lucas Gerten reached the finals in all three diving events during the competition.
The event is significant for Air Force as it provides an opportunity for divers to compete against top athletes and qualify for national championships. Gerten’s consistent performance across multiple events highlights the team’s competitive presence at this level.
On the opening day, Gerten was Air Force’s only finalist in the men’s 3-meter event, finishing 13th with a combined score of 662.15. In women’s competition, Kacey Hu achieved the highest preliminary round placement for Air Force on the 1-meter board, ranking 31st with a score of 229.25.
During the second day, Lexi Gregory advanced to finals in the women’s 3-meter event and finished 17th overall with a total score of 530.50. Gerten secured another 13th place finish on platform with a score of 644.60, while teammate Brady Nichol followed closely behind in 14th place after scoring 629.35.
On the final day, Gerten posted his best result by finishing 12th on the men’s 1-meter board with a score of 597.15—the highest placement among Falcons at this year’s meet in Flagstaff. In women’s platform preliminaries, Chloe Perkins scored 194.30 to finish in 32nd place.
The results from NCAA Zones reflect both individual achievements and team progress as Air Force divers continue to gain experience at high-level competitions.
