Air Force divers secure two first-place finishes against Army

The Air Force Academy diving team completed the first day of competition against Army at Crandall Pool in West Point, New York, on Friday. The Falcons secured two first-place finishes and had eight athletes place in the top five across both events. At the end of the day, Air Force led Army with a score of 176-107.

In the women’s 1-meter springboard event, Lulu Semakula finished first with a season-high score of 262.58. Kacey Hu followed closely in second place with a score of 262.43. Chloe Perkins placed fourth with a score of 244.95, and Cayla Jaffe finished fifth after scoring 236.18.

On the men’s side, Air Force divers swept the top three spots on the 3-meter springboard. Lucas Gerten took first place with a score of 352.05, while Brady Nichol earned second with 323.48 points. Freshman Vann Hotchkiss finished third with a score of 291.45, and Tyler Tolerico rounded out the top five by scoring 266.70.

Competition is scheduled to resume at Crandall Pool on Saturday, November 8, at 1 p.m. Eastern Time.
