Air Force divers earn multiple top-12 finishes at home invitational

The Air Force Academy hosted the first day of the Air Force Diving Invitational at Cadet Natatorium on Thursday, January 29. Seven divers from the Falcons finished among the top 12 in their respective events.

In the men’s 3-meter springboard event, Lucas Gerten secured third place with a score of 358.80, meeting the NCAA Zone qualifying standard. Brady Nichol finished seventh with a score of 309.85 in the finals. Vann Hotchkiss and Tyler Tolerico placed consecutively in tenth and eleventh positions, scoring 277.85 and 276.20 respectively.

On the women’s side, Kacey Hu led her team during preliminaries with a score of 231.55 and later took sixth place in the finals with a score of 247.20 on the 1-meter springboard. Lexi Gregory was close behind in seventh place after earning a final score of 243.15, while Chloe Perkins finished eleventh with a score of 227.00.

Competition will continue Friday, January 30 at Cadet Natatorium starting at 10:30 a.m., with women competing on the 3-meter board and men moving to the 1-meter event.
