Air Force secured a 24-21 victory over Wyoming in a Mountain West Conference football game at Falcon Stadium on Saturday, October 18, 2025. The Falcons came from behind after trailing for much of the first half, relying on their running game and key defensive plays to clinch the win.
Sophomore quarterback Liam Szarka led the Falcons with 174 total yards and a rushing touchdown, including 141 yards on the ground. This marked Szarka’s fifth consecutive game with more than 100 rushing yards, setting an Academy record for a quarterback.
Junior running back Owen Allen contributed 105 rushing yards on 10 carries. Saturday’s game was the third time this season that two Air Force players each surpassed 100 rushing yards, and the second consecutive game for both Szarka and Allen to achieve this together.
Senior kicker Reagan Tubbs was successful on all three of his field goal attempts, including a career-long 40-yarder in the fourth quarter. Tubbs’ three field goals in a single game represent a personal best.
On defense, junior safety Roger Jones led Air Force with 10 tackles and recorded an interception in the end zone during the fourth quarter. Freshman Max Mustell added eight tackles and also intercepted a pass late in the game.
Air Force (2-5, 1-4 MW) opened with a field goal after converting a fourth-and-three situation but soon fell behind as Wyoming (3-4, 1-2 MW) responded with a touchdown. The Falcons added another field goal in the second quarter but trailed 7-6 at halftime.
Both teams exchanged touchdowns early in the second half. After Wyoming extended its lead with a rushing score by Terron Kellman, Air Force responded with an eight-play drive capped by Szarka’s rushing touchdown. A two-point conversion tied the game at 14-14.
In the fourth quarter, Jones’ interception stopped a Wyoming drive inside the red zone. Air Force then drove 80 yards, ending with Kade Frew scoring on fourth-and-one to give the Falcons their first lead since early in the game. Mustell’s interception on the next Wyoming possession set up Tubbs’ third field goal, extending Air Force’s lead to 24-14.
Wyoming narrowed the gap with just over a minute left when quarterback Anderson connected with Michael Fitzgerald for their only passing touchdown. Air Force recovered the ensuing onside kick and secured a first down to run out the clock.
The victory marks Air Force’s fourth straight win over Wyoming at Falcon Stadium. The Falcons now hold a 31-28-3 advantage in the all-time series against Wyoming and are 19-12-1 at home in those matchups.
Air Force will have a bye week before returning to Falcon Stadium to host Army West Point on November 1 at 10 a.m. MT. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
