Air Force secured a 41-21 victory over Colorado State on Friday at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Falcons established control early with a strong first quarter, outgaining the Rams 147 to -2 in total yards and dominating possession time by nearly ten minutes.
Bruin Fleishmann and Josh Johnson set the tone with a 55-yard touchdown pass on Air Force’s opening drive. After the defense forced a quick three-and-out, Owen Allen added a six-yard rushing touchdown, putting Air Force ahead 14-0. By the end of the first quarter, Air Force had rushed for 76 yards and passed for 71.
Colorado State responded in the second quarter when Jackson Brousseau connected with Tay Lanier for a touchdown, narrowing the gap to 14-7. However, Kemper Hodges scored on a one-yard run before halftime to restore Air Force’s two-touchdown lead at 21-7.
After halftime, Colorado State opened the third quarter with another touchdown. Air Force answered as Johnson ran for a three-yard score to make it 28-14. In the fourth quarter, Johnson and Fleischmann linked up again for another touchdown pass, increasing the lead to 35-14. Following another Rams score, Allen sealed the win with his second rushing touchdown of the day.
Air Force finished with 420 total yards—316 rushing and 104 passing—and held possession for over forty minutes, their best mark of the season. Allen led all rushers with 107 yards and two touchdowns. Hodges contributed an additional 87 rushing yards. Johnson completed all four of his passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns.
Colorado State ended with 323 total yards, all through Brousseau’s passing performance; he completed 28 of his 37 attempts for as many yards. Lanier caught nine passes for seventy-three yards.
With this result, Air Force concluded its season at four wins and eight losses overall (3-5 in Mountain West play), while Colorado State dropped to two wins and ten losses (1-7 MW).
